Belltown gets green and clean

On July 12 there will be a Belltown community clean-up event called "Green and Clean." The event is sponsored by Belltown Community Council, Belltown Business Association, and Mars Hill Church.

Volunteers are encouraged to show up at 10am in front of Mars Hill Church.

I love the idea, it sounds like a great way to bring Belltown together as a greener community! Click here for more information.

Hug a tree today in Belltown

It's Earth Day! A time to celebrate and spread awareness for our planet's environment. On a personal note, I was in San Francisco for part of the weekend and was blown away by how dirty downtown was! It really made me appreciate how clean our little Belltown neighborhood is. Regardless, we still certainly have our share of garbage and pollution. Perhaps today you can make an effort to find an alternative to pumping the sky with car exhaust.

Seattlest has an interesting entry today about bike commuting in 10 easy steps. You also may find interest in this calendar of Earth Day related volunteer opportunities through Seattle Parks and Recreation.

Happy Earth Day Belltown!
