'Cineroke!' at the Rendezvous

Karaoke meets cinema making for a pleasant evening of "Cineroke!" Pick a song from your favorite movie musical and the scene is projected on the screen. Sounds pretty fun to me. Nothing like a little Yentl and some beer!

Cineroke is October 13 from 7 to 10pm and is $5. For more info click here.

Secret Society TGIF party this Friday

The McLeod Residence is throwing a Secret Society TGIF party this Friday with DJ's Colby b, Bret Law and Mad Rad. These string of parties are thrown every second Friday of the month. Says DJ Colby B of the party, "We are gettin' ready for another hot dance party!"

The McLeod Residence is Belltown's latest place-to-be bar. With a wide variety of patrons, a cool atmosphere, good music, and good drinks, it's got all the ingredients for success. I highly recommend checking it out!

See Sound Lounge throws a new Ladies Night

Ladies receive free entry however both guys and girls are free to enjoy their happy hour from 6-10pm offering $3 Drafts, wine and champagne. I stopped in the other night with a group of girls to check things out and we were pleasantly suprised to see that the place was packed. The DJ plays a variety of old school and top 40 mash-ups. If you're looking for a mid-week party in Belltown this is definitely your destination.

Mistral is out, and Spur is in

Perhaps you've been wondering what will become of the space which was previously home to Mistral restaurant on Blanchard between 1st and 2nd. Sources say a new Gastropub is on its way to take over The name of the new restaurant/bar called Spur. Spur as in cowboy spur. Hopefully it turns out to be a great new Belltown hotspot!

Belltowner's top picks for Belltown outdoor seating

As the weather warms up, outdoor seating becomes more crucial. There's nothing quite like spending a warm Friday afternoon sipping on something cold on a Belltown patio. I decided to go take a walk around Belltown and scope out some good ones. Here are a few that I noticed looked particularly cozy:

Macrina Bakery, Amber, Del Ray, Black Bottle, The Apartment, Marjorie, Belltown Bistro, Belltown Pizza, Amore, Mama's, La Fontana, Viceroy, Shorty's, and Le Pichet.

I must say my personal pick goes to La Fontana. It's a beautiful enclosed area with a soothing water fountain. Not to mention the food is stellar.

Seattle Weekly is sponsoring a city-wide Happy Hour next week in honor of their new Happy Hour guide. The event will take place at various bars throughout downtown Seattle as well as on the Eastside.

The participating Belltown bars include Cafe Amore, Del Ray, Lava Lounge, Ohana, Spitfire, and Twist.

The Happy Hour will take place next Wednesday June 4 from 4-10pm.

We all love ourselves a good happy hour. Afterall, the only thing better than getting drunk is getting drunk for cheap.

'Kushibar' coming to 2nd Ave.

Lots of changes on 2nd Ave., just north of Wasabi Bistro. A couple months ago, the hipster salon Stylus opened. And now there's a liquor license notice next door that "Kushibar" will be coming soon.

Shorty's arcade/restaurant/bar on 2nd ave. in Belltown provides a "hangover special" which includes a hot dog, veggie dog or German sausage; Bloody Mary; Alka Seltzer; and a single cigarette.

That's pretty great. Now if only they'd add an ice pack and a foot massage then we'd really be in business.

International 'No Pants' Day in Belltown

You heard it. No pants are allowed at the No Pants Party on May 2 at Belltown's newest hipster bar at McLeod Residence.

Pants are totally last season anyway.

Is Belltown's nightlife scene getting too uptight?

After the shooting at Belltown'sTabella the concern for safety in clubs in understandable. But are clubs going overboard? I snapped a photo of Toi's sign hanging in the window and couldn't help but feel like it was a bit intense. I don't wear baseball caps or baggy pants personally, but what if I did? Does that mean I'm bound to shoot someone? I think it's a little discriminating personally.

On a side note, have you ever actually seen a woman with a grill? Just wondering.

Get funky at Belltown's latest Karaoke hour

Every Sunday at 9pm there is a wild and crazy Karaoke night at the McLeod Residences' lounge on 2nd ave. here in Belltown. Based on these photos it looks like it's something worth checking out.

Seattlest is reporting that Belltown's own Txori has introduced a French artisanal liqueur called St. Germain to their menu. Apparently it is distilled from freshly picked elderflower blossoms and tastes of honeysuckle, pear blossoms, and lemons.

Mmmm. Sounds like yummy goodness to me. A perfect beverage for a sunny day.

Looking for some mid-week late night action in Belltown?

Viceroy Room's Wednesday NIght's known as the "Soul Hole" is quite the mid-week Belltown sensation. The night was even voted Best DJ NIght in the City Seattle by Metropolitan Magazine.
Patrons relax and sip while the DJ plays obscure and old classics of the soul, funk, and R&B variety.

Deep house diva DJ Colette to play this weekend

DJ Colette will be playing at See Sound Lounge Friday March 7 (tomorrow). One of DJ Colette's musical trademarks is improvising vocals while she spins records. It should be a great show not only because she's an excellent DJ, but also because See Sound Lounge is known for their excellent late night happy hour.

For more information on tickets go here.

Flaunt your best happy hour outfit

It's almost time for Rendezvous' 3rd annual Belltown Pageant, and the theme is "Best Happy Hour Outfit." The pageant is March 9th, but you'll need to drop off your application by tomorrow (Saturday) if you want to participate.

A previous year's participant. Rules and more info here.

The Frontier Room on 1st Ave. has posted a job opening for cocktail servers. They're also looking for (get this) female bartenders to "dance on the dance floor" and "have fun." Now that's my kind of job description....
