This morning 15 protesters were arrested during a protest outside Seattle City Hall when they refused orders to clear the street. The homeless advocates blocked Fourth Avenue and Cherry Street to protest sweeps that have removed transient camps. The demonstration followed an overnight camp-out that was organized by Real Change. They say the city needs to add shelters for the homeless before cracking down on camps.
According to police since the arrested protesters cooperated in being led to a bus for processing, and all they're facing is a pedestrian interference charge, they will not be booked into jail.
