Happy Cinco de Mayo!

That's right, it's Cinco de Mayo! Also known as, Americans' favorite excuse to get really loaded.

But did you know that hardly anyone in Mexico actually celebrates Cinco de Mayo, since it's not a federal holiday? A lot of people think that its the Mexican independence day, which it's not. In reality, Cinco de Mayo commemorates the victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza SeguĂn over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Mexico's independence day is actually the 16th of September.

But hey! Let's all get loaded anyway by swinging into Belltown's favorite Mexican restaurant, Mama's for their happy hour specials from 4-6:30pm today.
