Uh-oh, drama on the art scene. According to art critic Regina Hackett, there is a shortage of art exhibits featuring black artists in conjuction with Black History Month. She feels its a sign of Seattle's overall discrimination towards the black community.
CoCA Gallery however, is one of the few in full Black History Month force, featuring the art of black Seattle based artist, Ronald Hall. The exhibit includes 20 paintings, prints, photographs and posters that explore the theme of race from around the world, many artworks drawn from his private collection.
The gallery is located at 2721 First Avenue.
